Conor McPherson's acclaimed play The Weir won two Olivier Awards for Best New Play and Best Supporting Actor for Brendan Coyle. A brew of Guinness and ghost stories, The Weir is the story of a lonely young woman who comes upon a remote countryside pub only to discover, among the kindred spirits who haunt the place, the seeds of a new life.

The Weir made its American premiere at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre on April 1, 1999 and ran through November 28, 1999.
